…then my news must be bountiful. I believe it is.
Ravenshead Press has been quiet since last December and here are the reasons why.
1. My full time job changed to a more demanding role in IT and suddenly my free time diminished. It was/is a role outside my comfort zone with computers and demanded plenty of hands on learning.
2. Early enthusiasm for starting a press doesn’t make up for gaps in knowledge. Some interesting discussions with other publishers have helped to fill in some of those gaps. At the same time they have provided a rethink of the direction of the press.
3. One of these rethinks will be the production of pamphlets leading the way to full collections. This will be scheduled to start next year.
4. Work is currently progressing on our third anthology which will be produced in association with Artful Scribe. Artful Scribe is an organisation based in Southampton which aims to promote poetry in the south of England.
5. Over the last couple of months my personal poetry blockage has broken and I have been more deeply immersed in poetry events, but more of that in the next post.
